In Johanna Lecklin’s Story Café, the visitor gets a free coffee in exchange for a story. Johanna Lecklin herself is the host, a role she plays with engagement and curiosity. The stories are recorded on video. The visitors can also watch videos of earlier stories from other cities that are shown in the café.
Story Café playfully explores ideas of community on both a local and global level. The work deals with similarities and differences across cultures while offering visitors a free space to talk and listen and watch collected stories and offer one of their own.
